The Borderlands 4 Preorder Pack Got an Upgrade Alongside a Roadmap Reveal

Gearbox and Borderlands 4 were at PAX West just recently. In a now unlisted stream, they revealed some very interesting details about the game prior to launch. Including the upcoming addition of Pearlescent weapons for the first time since Borderlands 2. But that was not all, as they outlined bits of their post-launch roadmap for the planned DLC and events. As well as an upgrade to the preorder pack. Here is everything you need to know from the stream!

Details from the Borderlands 4 PAX West Stream

For starters, let’s talk about the new preorder bonus, the Gilded Glory Pack. Alongside the previously confirmed weapon, vault hunter, and echo-4 skins. Gearbox confirmed that there will be a pack of 4 legendary weapons, one of which you will be given at level 50. Alongside every Vault Hunter getting an optional Psycho mask to wear.

According to Randy Pitchford at the event, one of the rifles “F***ing kicks a**”. Pearlescents have been confirmed to come back, with a less than 1% rate for any of them. These guns will launch when the second bounty pack launches next year in Borderlands 4, which you can see down below in their detailed roadmap:

Obviously, everything in the roadmap above will be a mixture of free stuff for every player. As well as a little showcase for what can be expected from the planned DLCs.

Finally, Gearbox lifted the veil on their endgame plans. There is, of course, already a planned Invincible boss to come to Borderlands 4 before the year’s over. Going over the details for the planned Ultimate Vault Hunter mode, they stated the following on their website here:

Playing in Ultimate Vault Hunter Mode intensifies the risk and reward of Borderlands 4‘s looter shooter firefights. You should expect more demanding, chaotic battles against enemies that globally scale to your level; you’ll have to deal with increased damage scaling, while your opponents get intimidating modifiers like higher damage, bigger health pools, or resistance to certain elemental effects. But should you triumph, you’ll rake in big rewards: better loot that can supercharge your build, plus appropriately scaled-up XP and increased in-game currency in the form of Cash and Eridium.

Ultimate Vault Hunter mode in Borderlands 4 will have 5 difficulty levels and include a “Wildcard Mission” that lets you replay a mission against buffed enemies. More details on the endgame, including dedicated drops, weekly challenges, and firmware (their take on armor sets) that applied to shields, class mods, repkits (healing consumables), enhancements (or artifacts), and ordnance can be found on their website here.
